Unusuals are ridiculously rare, and are expensive. They have a 0.6% chance of dropping, and are exclusively available via crates (except the Horseless Headless Horsemann's Headtaker). This means on average, you will need to unbox 167 crates, costing a total of 167 keys, or roughly $416 USD. Unusuals can be on many cosmetics, war paints, or taunts. There are 631 cosmetics that could have any of 309 effects, 106 taunts with 155 effects, or 44 weapons with one of 5 effects.
There are quite a few unusuals, but some are better than others. For example, Uncle Dane's Unusual The Danger with the Miami Nights effect is very famous because it looks great.
